At this side event, HAYAT will be sharing what we think should be UN agencies’ role in enhancing regional cooperation & supporting #HumanRights focused, evidence-based #drugpolicy in Southeast Asia — with a focus on transnational #drugtrafficking & #deathpenalty in our context.

It is more crucial than ever for the UN to play its role in encouraging a harm reductionist and rights-based approach to effectively combat drug trafficking and organised crime. This includes, among others, abolishing the death penalty for drug offences and pursuing intergovernmental collaboration that would foster repatriation of exploited persons.
